Peanut Butter Cookies Recipes – The Best In The World !!!

Hi everyone and welcome to my peanut butter cookies lovers site. I don’t know about you but I absolutely LOVE cookies in all shapes and sizes. So I decided to put together a collection of what I consider the best and most enjoyable peanut butter cookies you will ever find. I have spent many years doing an extreme amount of testing (just ask my waistline!) to find tasty, easy peanut butter cookies that can be made without having a baking degree and enjoyed by all.

Peanut Butter CookiesJust to give you a bit of history about peanut butter cookies, yes that’s right even cookies have a story to tell, let’s see where they originated from. All the way back to ancient times us humans have been eating and enjoying cookies that contain nuts. But even so these ancient treats weren’t exactly like the ones we know and love today. Like a lot of things the Romans were the driving force behind spreading the word about cookies such as peanut butter cookies all over Europe. During medieval times white sugar was used to make cookies and this form was very similar to the one we eat today but they still didn’t contain peanuts. It would be many years before peanuts arrived in Europe and until then the bakers would use other nuts in their “cookies”
About 3,000 years ago in South America was where the peanut originated from. How do we know that I here you ask , well because ancient jars would be painted with peanut decorations and containers full of peanuts were placed in the graves of the deceased for their journey into the afterlife. The peanut was to spread around the world and become a popular ingredient for many foods including peanut butter cookies.

So when did the peanut really show up in cookie recipes? Well according to history somewhere around the 1920 – 1930 was when they truly became part of what we know as peanut butter cookies recipe. It’s thought that originally they were peanut butter balls from the Pilsbury Cook book which turned into peanut butter cookies by being smashed flat before they were baked.

Peanut Butter Cookies Today.

There are so many different types of cookies that are full of delicious tasty ingredients and one of my personal favourites is peanut butter chocolate chip cookies! Ruth Wakefield was thought to be the inventor of the chocolate chip cookie back in 1930.

Is there such a thing as healthy peanut butter cookies, well the closest I can think of is oatmeal peanut butter cookies. Yes there not chocolate chip or white chocolate or even double chocolate cookies but they still come a close second and really do taste sensational.

Do you prefer to crunch down on a cookie that’s hard and makes lots of noise when you eat it. Or are you like me and would rather have soft peanut butter cookies that don’t wear out your jaw and are nice and chewy to eat?
